Introducing: The BroadSoft Xtended
Developers Program
In the last issue of BroadSoft Calling,
we announced the BroadSoft
Xtended program, our Web 2.0 initiative to
enable software developers to create mashups
with the BroadWorks® platform. A key component
of the program is the Xtended
Developers Program, an online portal where
telecom and web developers can find tools for
creating these mashups.
The Xtended Developers Program provides an application
development portal (http://developers.broadsoft.com/)
that houses application programming interfaces
(APIs), sample code and documentation. Developers
will also find social networking features such
as forums and blogs to spur interaction within
the Xtended developers community. BroadSoft unveiled
the Xtended Developers Program last week
at the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco.
Calling Innovators: Join the Xtended
Developers Program today
All BroadSoft service providers and technology
partners should join the Xtended Developers Program.
The next in-demand Web 2.0 application could
be created by you or your company. There is no
cost to join the program. Register
for the Developers Program today.
Some of the mashups already created include:
Click2Message: Facebook + BroadWorks
One
of the new applications created through the BroadSoft
Xtended program is JoeDeveloper.NET’s
Click2Message application for social networking
site Facebook. With the Click2Message widget,
Facebook users can allow their contacts to reach
them by phone using click-to-dial within their
Facebook page. Click2Message is the first-ever
mashup to bring carrier-grade VoIP to Facebook
users. Click

The Unified
Connector for Salesforce
The
Unified Connector for Salesforce, which mashes
up BroadWorks calling features with the salesforce.com
CRM application, has already won two awards—a VON
Magazine Top 10 Innovator Award and a Unified
Communications magazine Product of the Year
Award.
Expect to hear more accolades for Xtended mashups
as developers add BroadWorks voice features to
more online applications used everyday by millions
of people.
